Message from our CEO

Housing Action, while at its heart is a charity, functions because it is a social enterprise. Meaning that if we want to be able to help more local people access homes, we need to meet and exceed the expectations of those who can provide us access to such property. Our product and service standards are outstanding and deliver exactly what we say they do. We want landlords to realise the full potential of their investments on both a social and financial level and we do this by offering security, guarantees and an insight into how we work . Taking the uncertainty out of being a landlord and giving landlords back time that that they had been spending on fixing problems with their tenancies – or agents!
For the individuals and families that need housing and the support to hold down a successful tenancy, we remove almost all the barriers to accessing a home. In return we expect them to work with us to help them thrive and flourish as people and citizens. We’ve been doing this for a long time now and know how to get it right. If it goes wrong and it occasionally does, we have the knowledge and experience within our team to resolve it. We’ve worked with thousands of people and advised other housing organisations nationally. This works regionally and in time, we will take it to a national.
For the government – local and national, we can tackle problems and issues that they are aware need addressing, but lack the resources to do so. One of our pilots running at the moment, is a scheme that involves jobless and unskilled people working with us to get empty and unfit homes back into use. Seems like a no brainer to us, to match someone that needs a home, skills and a general step up with somewhere that with some basic work could move from empty property to home.
Housing Action is an innovator and barrier buster. Passionate and enthusiastic about what we do, we like nothing better than coming up against a problem and finding, a really neat and cost effective solution.
